Guys that wear sunglasses at night. I hope you trip in front of a bus as a direct result of your vanity.

If there's one thing that annoys me it's guys who wear sunglasses at night. Right off the bat, they're known as "SUNglasses" for a reason. They are designed to block out the giant ball of light in the sky that's so powerful that if you look at it directly it can blind you. They aren't however designed to be worn when artifical light is required to see where you're going. When I see someone floundering (I say floundering because wearing sunglasses at night is the equivalent of making yourself legally bling) around at night with sunglasses I come to one of two conclusions;

1) He's blind.
2) He's a douchebag who thinks women will think he's mysterious because they can't see his eyes.
The typical assholes you see wearing sunglasses inside and at night. That feeling you have right now is fear, fear that your children will group up with morons like this.

Unless they're tapping a cane on the ground in front of them or they're walking a dog covered in a harness that proclaims it's a seeing eye dog, I'm going to be going with 2.
When you go for a night out in the city you're guaranteed to see them. They walk around, chests and chin puffed out with an unearned aura of arrogance and superiority around them. You look at them, you tilt your head to the left, you sigh and you think to yourself "it's such a shame your parents had sex...."

Spring’s Androhyny (Part 3); Blazers

Now the following Androhyny trend that I am going to talk about has been lingering around since 2008 and thankfully, like skinnies jeans – the blazer trend is still existent, 2 years later to this date! So I guess that’s good news for all you girls who are blazer devotees (a.k.a me – I currently own three) and who is a uni student who just doesn’t have enough dough to splurge on any more fashionable goodies.

Now we all know where the blazer originally initiated from and who it was originally intended for. Males of course! Now we all had seen these boys wear their blazers to occasions ranging from wedding receptions, offices to school formals and how much we love it when boys would wrap their warm blazer onto our shoulders when it is minus a trillion degrees outside. Yes, although we appreciate boys for displaying a chivalrous gesture, but of course we girls are most grateful when we had gained the opportunity to become draped in a blazer (usually over-sized! But still good)

So thankfully, when androhyny became a key and hot term in the fashion industry, who need boys anymore? Since we had grasped a hold of what we want most – their blazers. Now blazers vary from thickness, so you won’t need to make a death wish of drowning yourself in the pool because you are so heated up from wearing a blazer. Therefore, perfect for 2010’s spring and summer!

Men in blazers

Folding up the sleeves definitely implements a more casual and chic look, differentiating female’s blazers from male’s blazers. Hence there are so many blazer types to choose from – Balenciaga (school-boy) blazers, short/shrunken blazers, long tuxedo styled blazers, oversized blazers, short sleeved blazers.

From left to right: tuxedo styled blazer, Balenciaga blazers, short blazer and over sized blazer

The blazer is so versatile – turning casual wear into elegance and sophistication.
So I did it! I hope everyone enjoyed my androhyny series.

The growing epidemic that is "gangstaz"

If there is one thing I dislike it's this fashion trend of people walking around dressed as if they're "gangster" (Not the well dressed gangster that we know and love from the 1930's, but the present day gangster, wearing clothes two sizes too big. All I see is a man with low self-esteem determined to make himself seem bigger than he actually is. This fashion trend is spreading faster than swine flu.
These men vote....

We’ve all seen them, the guys walking around with their hat turned sideways (even though, it’s uncomftable due to the geography of the skull, and the shape of the hat. Society wants us to wear those hats straight, but these gangsters won’t have it.) They walk around shopping centres with oversized “bling” that looks like it came out of a cereal box. Pants around their ass, cartoon character boxers showing and a belt wrapped around it all, holding this "fashion statement" together. They attempt to make it look like it comes perfectly natural too them, all it does is cause them to walk around in a way that suggests they’ve shit themselves and are having issues with the weight of it pulling their pants down. They walk around confident that they're striking fear into people. They do strike fear into me, I'll admit that, but not in the way that they intended. When I see these guys I fear two things.

A man who looks like he's half prepared to take a dump...and women find this attractive?

1) These people can vote.

2) These people reproduce.

You see them and just you want to walk up, smack their hat back to its correct position and say “you’re a 20 year old white guy who went to private school, you get dropped off at soccer practice by your parents in their $100,000 car. You are not a middle aged man who lives in the slums, selling crack, living week to week and having sex with a large amount of women who’ve probably had more traffic through their legs than the Harbour bridge has had cars drive over it.”
